His last book is called "Critical Path" and is full of these predictions and answers, He pegged the "Pirates" and the economics, and the ecological with a bulls-eye every-time. For those who are not familiar with his works, this is the greatest book he ever published and if you have not read it you are in for a treat.

 

The title of the book is from the Space team that actually put the first man on the Moon. When JFK declared we would do it within 10 years, at that time all the technology developments and scientific discoveries of humanity up to that point had to double in 10 years to accomplish the task.

 

Not only that, but all the scientists of the world had to work together to do it. I was a teenager watching television's live coverage of the 1st Moon landing along with millions of others world-wide. We were never the same after that event because we saw our Earth from the Moon and KNEW we were One Planet and One Humanity.

 

Things really started to change then, and the evolution of human consciousness exploded exponentially. The "Alternative Culture" dared to challenge the "Authoritarian Culture" in every direction including the protesting of the Vietnam War. That alternative culture phophecied the ecological disasters ahead accurately but were "pooh-pawed" by the "establishment" entrenched in the expansion of the Corporate Empire that we now see.

 

There were no cell phones, no CDs or DVDs, no video games AND no Internet; and Feminism, civil rights, and gay rights were only beginning to get justice. Look at the difference now 50 years later. Can you imagine 50 years from NOW?

 

If we do not change radically in our energy systems there may not be any humans around in 50 years. TIME FOR BOLD CHANGE.

 

Many answers are coming now as the situation is being grasped by the public-at-large, in spite of the politics that tried to keep them dumb. The answers most heard express hope and using our intelligence to do something almost as impossible as going to the Moon used to be. Again humanity is challenged to invent technology that can accomplish the mission before us now.

 

You probably have heard the rhetoric debated by proponents of the Oil Industry, the Nuclear Industry, and Coal Industry. As well, as some of the alternatives, but look at the Big Picture. The economics is controlled by the consumers who pay into the Global Corporate Empire. This is where the power really is--in the People.

 

Okay, then why are the People being held hostage by these Industries and economically depressed? Oil, Nuclear, and Coal are reaping astronomical profits meanwhile.

So, what is the Critical Path for Humanity now?

Personally, I would say "Wake up!"

Agassi stunned the software industry in 2007 by resigning from SAP to focus on his vision for breaking the world's fossil-fuel habit, a cause he had championed since his fuse was lit at a Young Global Leaders conference in 2005. Through his enthusiastic persistence, Agassi's startup Better Place has signed up some impressive partners -- including Nissan-Renault and the countries of Israel and Denmark."

 

According to Shai in the TED presentation he made in April 2009, and which is available online (link is below), the projected costs see electric miles by 2010 costing 8-cents per mile to generate, which equals about a $1.60 per gallon cost in gasoline.

 

But Shai also says that with this plan, by 2015 electric fuel would be down to 4-cents per mile, and by 2020 2-cents a mile.

 

There is no way petroleum production cost per mile could compete with electric generated miles at that rate.

 

Shai mentions they intend 2 million of their electric cars on the road by 2015 at the cost of 0.5% of U.S. oil costs. MIT studies affirm that by 2016 at least 10 million of these electric cars will be on the road. They leave zero carbon footprint and use zero petroleum.

 

Nissan-Renault and the countries of Israel and Denmark, as well as parts of Australia, and Hawaii are on board already. Nissan-Renault has developed the electric car model envisioned by Shai Agassi, has a working prototype, and is in production now.

 

We need to invest in ourselves and in a clean energy economy to ensure we leave behind a healthy, prosperous Earth for future generations. We have a huge opportunity to become a global leader in new, clean energy technologies, while at the same time preserving our planet.

 

Now is the time to subsidize and support the electric car industry.

 

Why should we feel secure at all about being codependent upon a limited oil resource that pollutes so much and cost so much? Especially when people like Shai Agassi can prove it is considerably cheaper and totally non-polluting to go electric!

 

With this plan we can have 99% all-electric cars (not petroleum hybrids) by 2020. That makes me feel more secure than anything in the Energy & Security Act so far, why isn’t it top priority?

 

Our country needs this new industry and the support network that Shai Agassi suggests. We need to write all our politicians demanding they review this video presentation; and encourage them to draft legislation that puts billions and billions into manifesting this as a reality.

 

By transitioning to a clean energy economy, we can reduce global warming emissions, the number one cause of climate change - while saving $465 billion annually for American consumers and businesses by 2030. (source: The Clean-Energy Debate)

 

If we took half of the annual profits of the oil industry and allocated it to the development of this plan, it would be a much more intelligent and money saving solution to our troubled economy.

 

Please check out the 20-minute video and see for yourself. This plan is bold and timely, as well as very easy to understand. Makes more sense than the naked oil emperors claiming they have really nice clothes that cost us tons of money we don’t have.
